Jonathan Barenboim is a first-generation Argentine-American director of photography based in Los Angeles, CA.
Jonathan began his career lensing commercials. His first spot, PUG ATTACK won the Crash The Super Bowl Contest, and was also voted the #1 ad of the 2011 Super Bowl. Following that success, Jonathan went on to lens independent features, documentaries, and commercials for award winning directors, such as Victoria Mahoney and for studios including Netflix and Vice.
Jonathan's work has been recognized by Ad Week, D&D, and the Clio Sports Awards. His short documentary work for Reebok's THE ROAD TO KILLINGTON garnered numerous awards including a Silver Sports Clio.
Jonathan earned his B.A and B.F.A from Tufts University and M.F.A from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.
